On day 1, we examined our outside and recognized we are perfect in Him. Day 2, we examined our inside and realized that we needed heart surgery. Well today we are going to examine and evaluate what it is we put into ourselves day in and day out.
On a side note, I had a thought not to long ago – I practise the biblical principle of tithing 10 percent of my finances to God; well, what would it look like to tithe 10 percent of my time. That is 2 hours and 40 minutes a day. Can I say that I give that much time to God in one day?! So on that note, how much time do we give to God?
Do we do a 5 minute devotional to ease our conscience? Or do we spend ‘quality’ time with Him?
Often I have warned my children and others in my life that – “Garbage in/Garbage out”. Meaning, what are YOU filling your minds and life with? Is your time consumed with TV; things on the computer, such as games, social media; work; shopping; recreational activities; music we listen to; people we hang out with?
God’s word tells us in Philippians 4:8 “Finally brethren, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worthy, think on these things”.
Now I am not saying that all the above things are evil, and throw away your TVs, computers, stereos, work and friends. What I am saying is we should moderate what we spend our time on. What is it you are filling your thoughts and time with? If it is ‘garbage’ stuff, that is what your life will ‘produce’. If it is ‘godly and wholesome’ stuff, filling your mind with true, righteous, holy and virtuous things, they will bring YOU joy and peace through prayer and devotion to Him.
Prayer: Dear God, help me to evaluate my time and activities that I spend my energy on. Help me to fill my mind and life with things that are pleasing to You. Help me to ‘clean house’ today. AMEN
Action: Go in His grace and live a set apart life in the power of the Holy Spirit.

I am enjoying these devotionals….particularly today’s.. I have long believed that we need guard our minds as to what we allow to hang around in our heads. This site is another way to ensure that good thoughts replace ones that need to go. I also enjoy looking up the scripture.

Thank you for your response to our journey together….and your encouragement to me today. I was just wondering as I was writing this one…is anyone actually journeying with me. So thank you

Thank you for this study. We can’t always get to church as often as we like. This is wonderful. Praise the Lord.
