“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8

Consider that little word ‘for’. Its’ use in Hebrews 13:8 speaks of provision that can only be described from a godly perspective; eternal, everlasting and all-sufficient. Now, let’s consider the source: Jesus Christ. We are told (Colossians 2:17) “He is before all things and by Him all things hold together” or as I’d like to call it, in Him all things find their source of meaning, direction and consistency. Now, aren’t you glad that mercy lets us in on the process? Did you know that there is an angelic army waiting in eager anticipation to see us humans becoming a part of the process of turning this world around for good? We need to keep in mind that the vision and provision is unto all nations and people.

Recollect from Day Nine’s writing that Jesus is recognized as the seed that was the blessing God declared unto Abraham: it was through that seed that all the families and peoples of the earth could obtain the blessing of promise. The blessing is referred to as inheritance. The Biblical understanding of inheritance is the passing on of the father’s authority and resources and property unto the inheritor. Is anybody still sitting down and reading this? Because, if we would catch a vision of the heavenly power and authority that is being handed to us, the same as that which Jesus demonstrated, as ours to have and to hold, as a bride does of her husband, we would as the day of Pentecost demonstrated, blow the doors off the room of containment as joyful blessing poured out into the streets!

This inheritance is freely given to all who will call upon the name of Jesus. Jesus is waiting to hear our voices cry out to Him. His silent dying ignores the voices of cursing, in favour of bestowing mercy upon us, who will believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is the Firstfruits of the outpouring of the promised blessing from God. It’s God the Father, and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit who are all working in unison, that we may receive the favour and blessing and authority and power, the same as that which Jesus demonstrated while He lived! And there stands all of heavens host in eager anticipation. They are not sitting down. But interestingly, Jesus is sitting down, why? Because He believes in us. He believes we’ll do the right thing. How can we neglect so great a salvation?

Look at yesterday’s verse, Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith”. The man Jesus demonstrated the Christ’s workings. He wrote the book for us. Every where He performed a miracle, He was in effect saying, “this is for you. Sign your name here. This is the riches of your inheritance. I want you to have this. It’s yours”. All you have to do is say the words, “I do. I will. I humbly accept the hand of grace. I will join with you in this great and awesome pursuit of salvation. You are my vision of perfection, my enablement and provision”.
