Today is Pentecost Sunday.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I’m don’t know about you, but this journey has been great for me. And I am looking forward to what today is going to hold.

I came to the realization that we as Pentecostals don’t really celebrate Pentecost Sunday like other denominations do. The reason being that we have the Holy Spirit with us each and every day. But what some churches do is to use this Sunday as a recommitment to working with the Holy Spirit to reach a lost and dying world. Throughout this study we have been reminded time and again that we need to let our light shine in a dark world, that needs to know that God loved them so much that He sent His son to die for them.

Pentecost presents us with an opportunity to consider how we are living each day. Are we really in the power of the Holy Spirit? Are we open to the Spirit’s gifts? Are those gifts growing in our lives? These are questions I want you to ask yourself today. Self evaluation time.

Pentecost invites us to consider our own participation in the fellowship, worship and mission of the church. Today is the time to renew our commitment to live as an essential member of the body of Christ, using our gifts to build the church and share the love of Christ with the WORLD.

Don’t miss out on each and every opportunity God presents to us through His Holy Spirit. Be encouraged that He loves us so much, and He loves those around us so much that He is willing to use you to reach them.

PENTECOST is an invitation to DREAM. Dream big! Ask God today to help birth those dreams in you, so that you can be ‘pregnant with expectations’. Like our pastor often says, Ask BIG, believe BIG and receive BIG.

In this year lets expect BIG from God. Lets move out like the mighty army of God that has united us in passion and vision and reach this whole Cowichan Valley for Him. As you saw from the stats yesterday there is plenty of people for us to reach out to. Just in this valley. We will start there, and then pray for the ‘ripple effect’ or the ‘pay it forward’ principles that were shared about earlier in this journey.

And like we looked at a few days ago, it only takes ONE to be committed for God to be able to reach the whole school, office, town, valley, island, province, country, world. The possibilities are endless. All you have to do is get into His word and be willing to let God use YOU.

So as we close this chapter of our journey, be reminded that we have the Holy Spirit with us each and every day, leading and guiding us. And that these are exciting times to be living in. The harvest fields are white as snow.

Matthew 28:16-20New King James Version (NKJV)

The Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.[b]
