Read Joel 3:9 – Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
The children of Israel just after they entered the promised land, now had to go to war and continue to conquer the land. They had to be mobilized.
Mobilized – : to bring (people) together for action
: to come together for action
: to make (soldiers, an army, etc.) ready for war
Time is of the essence, we need to be mobilized for God. To continue to take the Land that God has promised us. Those lives that have been taken as prisoners of war. Our family, friends, neighbors. We need to be infectious in our faith.
A few key aspects that we need to consider before we move in to conquer that which is God’s. Follow the example of the Israelites as they moved through the promised land.
Follow Gods lead, even though it doesn’t always follow our logic. We have to trust that God knows best. Be obedient to do whatever He has called us to do.
When the Israelites attacked Jericho, it was not with weapons of war. God instructed them to circle around the walls for 6 days, once around the city. With the priest blowing trumpets and the ark of the covenant. And then on the 7th day they circled 7 times and God brought down the walls. Giving them the city. Strange way to win.
Then they moved on to conquer Canaan. But before they did this they had to renew their covenant with God. Because they had wandered the wilderness they hadn’t continued in the sign of the covenant, circumcision. For us today, we need to also practice circumcision. A cutting away of the flesh. Removing anything in our lives that stand between us and total surrender to the Lord. Anything that is displeasing to the Lord needs to be removed.
So after they were circumcised, they had to have a time of healing. Making them feel like ‘sitting ducks’. But they had to trust in Gods protection. God is always with us and will always protect us from the attack of the enemy. Because greater is He that is in me, than he that is the world.
Another key to mobilization is unity. We have to remember that we are not in this war all by ourselves. We as the body of Christ, are in this together. And if you feel you are not involved in this mobilization that God is gathering, then you need to stop sitting on the side lines and sign up to be drafted to this battle. Because we cannot fight these giants on our own. We all need each other. Help the wounded, support the front line workers and whatever God is calling you to do, you can do it!
God was telling Israel that they are to walk looking to the victory of today rather than the defeat of yesterday.
Get on your face before the Lord, seek the Lord’s will for the battle and let Him lead you to victory.
